BRDC Rising Star
The most exclusive club in motor racing? That describes The British Racing Drivers' Club, home to the most successful racing drivers from Great Britain and the Commonwealth. And today, Aiden Moffat of Laser Tools Racing was awarded the major recognition of being one of 2016's BRDC 'Rising Stars'.
Aged 24 and under, the BRDC Rising Stars are seen as very much the future of this very prestigious club. Scouted from trackside, the BRDC Rising Stars are in effect ‘Junior Members’ ...of the Club, all taking their motor racing very seriously and all aiming for a professional career within the sport. From all four-wheel racing disciplines, the Rising Stars represent the BRDC in national championships, and from the races contested while wearing the scheme's unique ‘blue roundel’, it is hoped the Rising Star will graduate to the ranks of Full membership.
The BRDC takes it responsibility as ‘guardians of British motor sport’ very seriously. In addition to maintaining and operating the only circuit currently licensed to run a Grand Prix in Great Britain, the BRDC has for many years fostered young driver talent. That these factors have contributed to Great Britain retaining its high profile and achieving considerable success within motor sport over many years, is a source of great pride to the Club and its members.
After leaving Silverstone Circuit this afternoon, Aiden Moffat travelled over to the HQ of Laser Tools at Southam, Warwickshire, where he commented: 'It was a great honour for me to become part of the BRDC Rising Star scheme today. A great start to what should be a great year!'
All we can say is — well done Aiden!
